Analytics for WordPress

Great session with William Leler of Political Irony.

Google Analytics:  Set up account and three steps.  Nothing simpler.  Goes deep down.

SIteMeter:  Tells what is going now, today, hour by hour.

BlogStats:  This is a WP plug in which shows the top posts and pages for today and tomorrow.  All you need is a WordPress account, and not necessarliy linked tot hat account.

AMAZING.   You can filter gmail by devising new addresses that let you know where your mail (and spam) is coming from.  my.name@gmail.com   just becomes my.name+somethingelse@gmail.com

William uses the following in this order.  SiteMeter, GoggleAnalytics, and Blog Stats.  He’s trying Woopra, but finds the beta rough and it’s “too flashy”  Also Stat Press is a plug in that shows spiders and feeds.

Feedburner plug-in shows you how people are reading you site without visiting.

Mint haveamint.com costs $30 one time but looks pretty sophisticated.

Also Clicky and my blog log.    Whew!  I’m exhausted!  That first “nothing simpler” should have warned me.  Will have to come back to figure out this post.
